Where was the origin

African hair braiding is an old way that many women can get their hair styled and protected for a long period of time. African Hair braiding not only preserves one’s hair it also preserves the African culture. Many artifacts show that even in the stone ages many African styles that we have today are still being worn today. African Braiding not only connected African American’s to their culture it also was a way of preserving one’s identity. From the West African regions to the northern regions Hair braiding can be traced back to the stone ages.

Many hair stylists make a living by Hair braiding. It is a million dollar industry. African hair and beauty products are bought all around this county and world.  We see celebrities like brandy, Alicia keys, and willow smith rocking their hair and culture.
